Norwood Green Junior School

"The booking was very straightforward and well managed. Just as last year, the children had a thoroughly memorable day at the park.

The organisation of the day by the staff was great, as all children managed to complete all activities we had booked for. Staff were professional , courteous and skilled. Particularly Akil, who I believe was the team lead- he not only guided us for the day, he checked in regularly with the groups and went above his role to 'play' with the students (and managed them brilliantly)while they awaited their next activity and in the net park activity.

We were very grateful for the time and effort in planning our school visit. We look forward to booking again soon. Thank you from all of us!"

FAQs

We hope to answer all your questions about school visits here, but if we can't, feel free to get in touch at hounslowinfo@begripped.com.

The school group leader must assess the needs of the actual group they are leading and provide supervision equal to or exceed the below Gripped Ratios:

  • 9 - 12 years - one adult to eight children
  • 13 - 18 years - one adult to ten children

As we do not know the needs or abilities of the children attending, the group leader must be the person to determine the level of supervision bases on the abilities of their participants, the group leader must come to site and undertake a site-specific risk assessment, to fully understand Gripped.

Regarding the High Ropes and Zip Trek courses, all participants will have to demonstrate their ability on the practice course before being allowed to go on to the main activities. The supervising instructors will have the final say whether a person can or can’t use the main course. This will be determined by the participants ability to understand the safety briefing, attitude to safety, demonstration of the techniques required to safely get them around the course, wearing suitable clothing and shoes and being able to demonstrate they are physically able to complete the course.

The instructors on the day will place supervising adults where they feel they may be required. The group must also ensure that supervising adults are happy too and able to participate in the activities, as well as provide suitable ground supervision for general welfare.

Schools are welcome to visit from Monday - Friday during term time only, for just £24 per person for secondary schools / £20 per person for Year 6s.

All supervising adults accompany for free, they must meet our minimum levels of supervision of:

  • 9 - 12 years - one adult to eight children
  • 13 - 18 years - one adult to ten children

Any additional supervising adults required by the school's Risk Assessment are also welcome, free of charge.

Yes, groups of 50 or more will require staggered starting times for their activities but is there plenty to do to keep students engaged between activities:

Human Foosball—a fun, interactive team game to keep the energy high.

Outdoor play at Hobbledown Heath—just next door, perfect for letting students run off some steam while they wait for their next adventure

Our school trips last from 10am - 2pm. That's plenty of time for you to pack some adrenaline-filled fun in!

As an outdoor park with limited cover in the event of a rainy day, we’d advise that everyone on the trip dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for some elements of our park to be closed if weather conditions are extreme.

We encourage the children to bring their own packed lunches where possible; please remember, we are an outdoor attraction.

Food and hot drinks are available next door at Hobbledown Heath.

Closed toe shoes and moveable clothing should be worn - loose hair and jewellery should not. Find out more about the dress code so that you can properly advise your school party.

You can find us to the northwest of Hounslow Heath - the views are fantastic!
